McRae's

1652 McRae Avenue
Victoria, BC V8P 1H3
(250) 590-6944

There is a number one reason I love McRae's. For some it might be a controversial reason. I love it because it's like a pub you can take your kids too. I know right! Shock horror, she wants to take her kids to the pub. Well yes I do. I'm not talking about sitting around playing cards and smoking cigars whilst I bounce the baby swing with my foot and send my 9 year old to order my pint of lager, I'm just talking about a social scene and atmosphere that is condusive to pub culture. That is; talkative, casual, friendly and a good assortment of bistro/pub type food and drinks.

Big Wheel Burger

Big Wheel Burger
341 Cook Street
250-381-0050

The restaurant is 95% sustainable--every item on your tray is compostable! The food is a delicious spin on fast food, locally sourced and made in-house.

Kids’ meals are $7 and include a small burger or hot dog, drink, cookie, and toy.

Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.

Hope Key Restaurant

1313 Douglas St Victoria BC

Tel: (250) 382-6048

Tuesday to Saturday 11AM to 8 PM.

If you are looking for an affordable, central, family friendly place to dine out for Chinese food, look no further.

It’s always a good sign when the staff greets your kids, and makes a fuss over them as soon as you walk in. We have lots of food allergies in our family and never once has an issue been made by the staff about accommodating them. The menu is large, as are the portions.

Floyd's Diner

Downtown Location:
866 Yates St
Victoria BC

Tel: 250-381-5114

Open 7 days a week
Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4pm
Saturday and Sunday 8am – 4pm

This funky diner is favourite spot for our family to do breakfast or lunch. There was room to leave our big stroller in the lobby, where we could see it. Highchairs are available and are in good condition!

The service has always been top notch, as has the food. Affordable prices for food that is piled high. Our son loves the staff and they are really accommodating of him, the food comes quickly so your little ones aren’t left getting worked up watching everyone else eat. Breakfast is served all day, and the Eggs Benedict are to die for!

Zambri's

The Atrium
860 Yates St
t: 250 360 1171

From A Reader:

I must say we had an amazing experience at Zambri's with our 20 month old son.   The staff were so friendly  and accommodating that it felt even more comfortable there than in any openly kid friendly restaurant.

On arrival we were offered high chair, crayons and information that the washroom had a change table and that we could order food for our toddler as immediate as possible. They will do small portions of pasta and what kid doesn't like pasta.

Stir It Up

1284 G1 Gladstone Ave

phone: 250 590 6694
website: www.stiritupfoods.com

This is definitely a Victoria hidden gem! Located in Fernwood Square (Gladstone Avenue), this little hole in the wall has authentic Caribbean food so good for the soul, you will be beaming for days.

With just a few tables outside, you can happily sit with your little ones or let them run around the square whilst you enjoy your food on one of the benches.

I tried the killer roti bread with chicken curry, it was delicious. This is the perfect kind of home cooking you want to eat at a restaurant, comforting, but too good to get it right yourself!

Sauce Restaurant & Lounge

1245 Wharf Street
Victoriaphone: 250 382 8662
website: http://saucevictoria.com/

If you like a sophisticated setting where you can feel like an adult even with your kids in tow, Sauce is your spot. Great drinks, great new menu including delicious tapas and kid friendly - perfect hey! You can also reserve a table online.

Kaz Japanese Restaurant

1619 Store Street
Victoria
BC V8W 3K3phone: 250 386 9121

Everyone has their favourite sushi restaurant, this is Dave's! It's small but we've been a few times with kids and it's been just grand! No booth seating like many sushi places, but still worth a visit and good prices for great sushi.

Fifth Street Bar and Grill

1028 Hillside Avenue
Victoria BC,p: 250 380 4600
http://www.fifthstreet.ca/

My first experience with Fifth Street was as a brand new mom with a 5 weeks old babe I was having a hard time breastfeeding. I was nervous about nursing in public but my husband pointed out there were two other women nursing and a lot of other kids. The menu choices for adults are fantastic as are the drinks. It's noisy enough that you don' feel self conscious with a fidgety toddler and staff are very accomodating.
